Community Elections: A New Dawn for Leadership

The much-anticipated community elections commenced with the official announcement on Friday, 18 October, made by the Election Committee in consulta-ion with the governing body.

This marked the beginning of a democratic process that brought together two distinct teams with unique ideologies and agendas, alongside two independent candidates eager to contribute to our community’s betterment.

Thursday, 24 October was the deadline for filing nominations. All contestants formally registered by submitting sealed envelopes in the prescribed format into a transparent box, symbolising both integrity and opportunity.

This inclusive approach gave everyone a platform to showcase their passion and commitment.

Campaigning unfolded with vibrant enthusiasm. Candidates interacted extensively with residents, going door-to-door to present their visions and objectives. They leveraged digital media and video profiles to connect with the community, outlining agendas focused on infrastructure development, security enhancements, and an improved living experience.

These efforts ignited a wave of excitement and hope for a brighter future.

Campaigning officially concluded at noon on Saturday, 9 November and voting took place on Sunday, the 10th from 8 AM to 4 PM, with an impressive estimate of 850 votes cast. An Election Officer, from the Deputy Registrar’s office, conducted the election fairly and smoothly.

The counting process extended late into the night, concluding with the announcement of the winners at 11:30 PM. The winning contestants signed the result against their names.

It is thrilling to welcome our newly elected leaders: Rajesh Rastogi, Sanjeev Sharma,  Devendra Kumar, Alka Verma, Gita Nath,  Ved Prakash, Preeti Singh, Dharamveer Yadav, and Om Prakash Dembla.

The Board shall meet soon to decide on the portfolios and areas of responsibilities.

These leaders are set to serve the community for the next year, driven by a collective vision for growth and collaboration. Their journey embodies the spirit of democracy and community living. We look forward to their leadership in shaping a brighter and more inclusive future for us all!
