Pran’s Chacha Choudhary And The Period Guide in English and चाचा चैधरी और मासिक धर्म की शिक्षा (Chacha Choudhary aur maasik dharm ki shiksha) in Hindi, a comic book on menstruation, was released on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Our resident Dr Puja Dewan (HNo. 61) has contributed as the Expert-Advisor Gynae-cologist and herself features in the comic as a cartoon caricature character. Dr Puja Dewan says, “This Period Guide is a unique easy-illustrative must-read for young girls. It raises menstrual awareness, promotes healthy practices, explains adolescent health, puberty, nutrition, breaks myths, elucidates the use of friendly sustainable menstrual products and sanitary waste disposal. Menstruation is a normal process and the book promotes dignity and self-respect for women.”
