Colours of Spring – Holi 2023

Holi, the springtime Hindu festival of colours is a ritual dating thousands of years in honour of Shri Krishna. It’s a festival of joy, love and unity where everyone throws gulal (colored powder) or colored water at one another. The celebration is visually recognizable because it features colorful gulal which end up all over attendees to varying degrees. The festival was celebrated at Apex Athena with a lot of fun and fervour.

Choti Holi was also celebrated the night before with a bonfire, Holika Fire, representing the legend of the evil demoness Holika being defeated by her nephew Prahlada. Choti Holi symbolizes how love and goodness will triumph over the flames of evil. At Apex Athena, the event was celebrated with DJ and gourmet gujiyas which the residents thoroughly enjoyed.

The morning of Holi was celebrated as Rangwali Holi (colorful Holi). The RWA of society had organized a rain dance setup where residents of all age groups, young children to elderly grandparents, danced their hearts out while playing with gulal. Some mouth-watering snacks and breakfast was also arranged for the residents. Being conscious and mindful consumers, the association had arranged for organic holi colour at the event and after snacking everyone had a whale of a time with colours and rain dance. The event was concluded with a feisty and sumptuous lunch which the residents thoroughly savoured and enjoyed!
