GPE has a rocking holi function
After 3 years of Covid inactivity Green Park Extension Association decided to host the Holi function in the K block park for its residents. The function was open to all and the entry was pay for. The cultural committee of the Green Park Extension Association got together to put up this beautiful program on Holi for its residents. Senior Vice President, Anand Gupta brought in sponsors for DJ music and Tents while the sumptuous food was arranged by Mrs Harsh Logani Kiran Babel and Vijaya Joshi.
It was decided to make the lunch pay for and the tickets were pegged at 250 for adults and 200 for children. The different Ward In Charges and the EC members got busy selling the tickets for the do two week’s prior to Holi. The DJ and the Tent arrangement by Anand Gupta was in place the evening before.
Holi celebrations began as the residents started turning up in the morning. It looked like people were venturing out with a lot of enthusiasm. Soon the Holi function was underway. The DJ started belting out one Holi number after the other and the people started grooving to the music. All those coming in the park were greeted with dry colors and chandan tika. The children soon got busy and gradually water balloons and wet colors started going back and forth. Peels of laughter running feet, all added to the fun and merriment.
People started making way for the South Indian lunch which included vada, sambar dosa, uttapam, idli, moong dal halwa and Tea and coffee. Residents turned up in large numbers with even little ones enjoying themselves to the full. The littlest participant of the Holi function was all of one year old, gleefully throwing water balloons on the floor and clapping his hands joyfully. It was a sight to behold. It was indeed a rocking event and the residents were full of praise for the RWA for arranging a perfectly well managed function. Hope to have many more such beautiful events in the coming year.
