A Swimming Meet was organised at the pool of Club-26 on 16 July. It started at 8 AM and the pool area was decorated with blue and white balloons. Even the pool-side lawn was covered with a tent and decorated in colours of white and blue. Ample chairs and tables were placed for the members. A lavish spread of South Indian food was put up on the skating rink.
The swimming meet saw limited participation from children. This was attributed to schools having restarted and children being busy with the preparation of tests. There was a single participant in the Under-7 Breast-Stroke competition while the maximum kids (numbering 14) were in the Under-13 category.
The gathering was less than 100 people but one must applaud the parents and grandparents who stood in the heat to cheer their kids and grandkids.
The award ceremony was preceded by a tombola game which was ably handled by Rajeev Sharma (D-33A) that saw active participation. The colourful medals were given by Chief Guest, Indu Prakash Singh (OSD NOIDA Authority) who complimented the Club and said “This kind of competition encourages children to move forward in life.”
