It was a beautiful, sunny day with moderate temperature when the SP Baghla cricket match took place on the 23rd of February in the Children’s Park. The residents enjoyed the thrill-ing game, which was captained by Abhishek Gupta for the Residents’ Team and Yogendra Jethi for the Club Team.
The RWA Team won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Club Team managed to score a total of 113 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets. In response, the RWA Team was able to make 111 runs in twenty overs. It was a nail-biting match that kept the spectators engaged till the very last moment.
The match commentary was provided by Mala Mathur and Anupam Bhardwaj, who entertained the audience with their witty remarks. Parag Chawla was the umpire of the match.
The refreshments were super yummy with delicious samosas sponsored by VN Gupta. Rajesh Khanna made excellent arrangements, ensuring that everyone enjoyed fresh sugar-cane juice and roasted sweet-potatoes, which turned out to be a crowd favourite.
Ritik Joshi was declared the Man of the Match, while Manish Verma won the Best Bowler award for his impressive swing bowling. Aniruddh Gupta was honoured as the Best Batsman and received the trophy from Mr & Mrs. Bagla.
Dr Mahesh Sharma also graced the occasion, blessing everyone and appreciating the event saying, “It is wonderful to see people coming together, bonding over cricket, and enjoying this beautiful day. It was truly a day filled with fun and excitement.”
