A blue coloured electrically operated golf cart that requires eight hours of charging was introduced by the club for the senior citizens, ladies and other members of the club.
The golf cart was bought in Ludhiana at a cost of Rs 5 Lakhs. Similar golf carts are very effectively being used in Club 15A and many other clubs and condos in Gurgaon.
This is a great community initiative and it will make the seniors feel that they are being looked after. To start with the cart should be introduced only for senior citizen members and their spouses with a clear rider that they would use it only for coming to the club and going back home. It has been seen that some users tend to go shopping on the way and don’t realise that many others are waiting for the cart to come and fetch them.
After the cart has been used effectively for the seniors and if there is enough time available after that should it be available for other members. The experience of other clubs shows that the club will have to very soon buy another cart because one will be too short for the seniors in the waiting.
Senior citizen member of the club Mr Wadhawan was called to inaugurate the golf cart. He thanked the club for this fine gesture that will help the seniors to come to the club without bothering about bringing their own transport.
In appreciation of this introduction Sanjay Gaur wrote the following poem:
A Thoughtful Ride!
A blue golf cart, a symbol of care,
Brought by the club, a transport rare.
For seniors and ladies, a comforting aid,
Within the sector, their worries fade.
Club members too, enjoy the convenient ride,
Gratitude abounds, for this thoughtful stride.
One more act of club for its members’ care.
No dog can bite, the Royal ride is without fare.
