It all started with a thrilling Diwali celebration, followed by Lohri. So the mood was upbeat to celebrate a “Block level” Republic Day with a close group of about 60 residents. After unfurling the tricolour, a flag-march was led by the enthusiastic kids complete with resounding patriotic slogans! Kids did full justice to the event with their enthusiastic performances – poems, dances, speeches and quiz – all in the patriotic spirit. To complete the event was gifts for kids and a hot cup of tea, samosa and sweets for all!
On the other hand, the Community Centre event on the occasion was bare bones – not much can be expected with a “non-functional” RWA! Qudos to “Club J block” and hope it inspires other blocks too – lesson to learn – instead of complaining about the lack of activities, plan your own!
