Club Committee Revised Club Membership Rates Will Keep Non-Resident Membership Window Open

15A Resident Plot Owners Up till 2022 Are Feeling Penalised

After the new Club committee posted the new Membership rates, the Sharing & Caring Whatsapp group was ablaze with discontent from residents who seem to be af-fected by the decision.
The following were some thoughts raised by them:
Piyush Gupta wrote: The present Club committee has overlooked what has been passed at the AGM and has informed via mail that it is as per their ruling which is 2.5 L and not 1.0 L.
Rohit Khanna: ”if it was passed by majority, then it will definitely be recorded in the MOM. Hence my request is to share the MOM so we can all understand what the issue is.

Piyush Replied: If that is the case then why have the AGM?
Another resident Wrote: Also, why RWA is quiet on this issue?
RWA has to work in the interest of the Residents.

They should immediately take up the issue with Club CMC and get the membership charges in line with charges that were passed in the club AGM.

Question is why the Club CMC wants children of the Sector to suffer by paying an exorbitant fee when they have lived in this Sector for many years.

Aditi said: If the minutes of the meeting come out with Rs.2.5 lakhs + GST, it’ll be an outright disregard of the resident’s requests and the integrity and honesty of the committee will be in question.

Ravi Sahdev said: Aditi ji, not to worry, elections will be held next year, then committee will see.
This flurry of Whatsapp messages shows the discontent among residents. The question is, why would the new Club committee decide to enhance the reduced rates decided by the last General Body Meeting of the Club?

Getting more funds would not have been on the agenda because the previous committee has left a lot of surplus funds to manage the Cub affairs. It looks like the non-resident committee members want it this way because if the membership rate was kept at 1 Lakh instead of 2.5 lakh for Dependant Members /Property Purchased on or before 17th June 2022, then most of the 150 (approx.) PUC non-resident members who had become PUC members during this period will take full membership because they have already paid this amount for their PUC membership.

Even if 100 PUC members apply for full membership then the window of new membership in the non-resident category will remain closed for many years to come. This must not have gone down well with the present non-resident committee members who must have been waiting to induct their friends and associates into the non-resident membership category. This will indeed upset the current proportion between resident and non-resident members.

In the Club, the resident members have elected a fractured mandate (two from one group and four from the other group) and for the first time in the Club’s history the Club Hony. Secretary is running the show with the support of the three non-resident committee members who in their strong position can impose on the resident committee members. That could be one of the main reasons for the change in the rates which is completely contra to the interests of the residents of 15A.
