Club 26 & RWCS Should Once Again Start Caring for Senior Citizens

Senior Citizens Collegium is Slowly Dying

Both the institutions of the sector Club 26 and RWCS are financially doing well. They organise big entertainment programs for young women and men. However, in their desire to give the youngsters a good deal they seem to have forgotten their seniors who have worked hard to make both the institutions what they are today. There was a time when both the organisations used to provide freebies to seniors. Now the Senior Citizens Collegium has to fend for itself. With the result this important institution is slowly dying.

The Club and the RWCS management should ensure that the Collegium continues to prosper and all the super seniors are cared for. They should provide good facilities to senior citizens regarding their entertainment and health. Earlier, both RWCS and Club 26 had given rooms to the Collegium of Senior Citizens Welfare Association for their office, but due to some unknown reason, it was withdrawn, with the result senior citizens are now not able to organise get togethers and programs for their members. President Govind Sharma and President RK Khosla should personally look into these matters and both being seniors should also fully participate in the programs. There is also a need for some improvement in the functioning of Collegium of Senior Citizens Welfare Association. It has been observed that the old members have stopped participating in the pro-grams, and not only this, even the members of the Executive Committee do not participate fully. The reason could be that old members have grown too old and not able to come due to health problems. To make the programs more attractive, more and more residents in the age group of 60-70 years should also be made members and involved in the committee.
