With the objective of promoting traditional dances in the community and providing a platform for young dancers in Kathak, Bharatnatyam, and other dance forms, Meghdutam Rangmanch introduced this event for the first time, on Saturday 26 November, in its repertoire of programs in this festival. Prerna Sharma, a kathak dancer, took the lead in inviting dance teachers in Noida and Delhi to present a range of compositions. All credit goes to her for organizing the entire event and a ‘special thank-you’ goes to the dance teachers for preparing their students to put up a scintillating show. We extend our thanks to Suman Sharma for compering the program.
Program included performances by students from Nritya Kala Bharthi, under the guidance of Lalita Chelapathi (Bharatnatyam); Natraajan Nrityakala Aashram, students of Prerna Sharma (Kathak); Kalaratnam Gurukul, students of Deepamala Nutan; Natrajanjali by Ipshita Bhattacharya, students of Ipshita Bhattacharya (Bharatnatyam); Ahaaryam Nrityashala Dance Foundation & Educational Trust, students of Aishwarya Verma; semi-classical by Ketki Pasricha and Ipsita Kapoor; Kaladhwani, students of Radhika Kathal (Bharatnatyam); and Kathak Nrit Bhav, students of Bhawana Chhabra. Performances included were Pushpanjali, Tirvat, Semi-classicals, Raas, Natesh Kowtam, Tarana and Namaskar.
