Christmas means “Feast day of Christ” and it’s an annual celebration marking Jesus Christ’s birth. It is observed on 25 December as a cultural and religious celebration among a lot of people
all over the world. Christmas reminds us of the importance of giving and sharing with friends and family. We know that Jesus birth is the beginning of great things in the world. It is generally an opportunity to think about nature and the reason for our existence. Christmas is such a festival which people from all religions and faith celebrate worldwide despite it being a Christian festival. It is the essence of this festival that unites people so much.
Silver City residents with the support of Silver City AOA have been celebrating Christmas with full enthusiasm for last few years. This year also it was a grand celebration in Central Lawn of Silver City on 25 December.
Approximately 500+ residents with lot many kids, youngsters, couples and senior citizens participated in the celebration. Kids and ladies (few men as well) were dressed in Christmas attire (i.e. red and white). There were prizes for the best dressed in different categories.
The entire complex was very well decorated in the colours of red and white giving a great festive look. The whole Central Lawn was decorated red and white lights which was a treat to the eyes during the night.
Live music on this day was courtesy a performing arts academy led by Sunita Jain, (Tower-3) which was an additional feature in the celebration. Santa Claus, dressed in fluffy red and white costume gave out candies and red and white caps to the kids. Everyone including senior citizens of the society enjoyed performances of kids singing famous Christmas carols like “Jingle Bell, Jingle Bell, Jingle all the way” and the Live Music.
There was special arrangements done by AOA for tea, coffee and freshly baked snacks i.e. samosa, pakoras and chocolate cup cake which everyone enjoyed.
It was a high spirited evening with everyone enjoying, and kids excited and playing all around, which brought smile to everyone’s face.
Such celebrations in the society are good occasions to have bonding, sharing joy and happiness amongst the residents of the society and Silver City AOA yet again successfully arranged for the same.
