IC, renowned for its splen-dour, took on a month-long preparation for the awaited celebration of Christmas. Spearheaded by Sangeeta’s efficient coordination with the event management company, the preparations were meticulous, ensuring a delightful experience.
Shobha and Kiran put their soul into training the children for melodious carols, while Rekha’s choreography added rhythm to the festive spirit. Ruchita, the savvy shopper, meticulously gathered gifts, while Sana, Stuti, and Devyani dived into the world of decorations, turning the three lobbies into a display of Christmas cheer.
Stuti’s workshop became a hub of creativity, where children crafted decorations from coloured paper, infusing personal touches into the festivities. IC adorned itself with resplendent Christmas trees, Santa figures, snowmen, and Nativity scenes, shimmering under fairy lights.
As the sun shone brightly on Christmas Day, Sangeeta and Sumati took the stage as charismatic MCs, ensuring everyone revelled. Delectable treats like hot samosas, tea, coffee, and snacks complemented the lively atmosphere, while the DJ’s tunes kept spirits high.
Children stole the show with their carols, dances, guitar performances, and the anticipated arrival of Santa, bearing candies, chocolates, and gifts. Malvika, with her warm smile and twinkling eyes, stepped into the role of Santa with an infectious enthusiasm that instantly spread joy.
Dressed in the iconic red suit trimmed with fluffy white fur, Malvika radiated merriment. With a jolly “Ho, ho, ho”, she distributed candies and gifts chosen thoughtfully to bring delight to every child. Her dedication to embodying the spirit of Christmas made the day magical, as the children’s faces lit up with wonder and happiness, when she walked in with her Reindeers – a community dog Chanda and a pet dog Doodle – creating cherished memories.
Laughter echoed during races, musical chairs, and an exhilarating tug of war, elevating the camaraderie. Two rounds of Tambola added a thrilling touch, stirring excitement. Shopping for exquisite sarees, jewellery, winter wear, health-related products, and indulging in the flavoursome offerings from food vendors made our day. IC food enthusiasts left an indelible mark on the vendors, exhausting their supplies!
In the tapestry of celebrations, Christmas stood as a testament to unity, joy, and the collective spirit that bonds residents together, creating cherished memories and moments that lingered long after the festivities concluded.
