The Gurpurab celebration by kids of Defcol was purely a divine evening attended by a large number of people in the C Block Gurudwara of Defcol on the17th of November. The entire gurudwara was filled with warmth, and holy vibes filled every heart with love and happiness seeing kids, as young as two years to 15 years, performing various recitations —mool mantra, stories on Gurus, poems on Gurus, singing of shabads, ardaas and waak taking, langar parshaad distribution, and so on. This is done every year, and this year also over 30 kids participated and were trained by Ekta of Lil khalsa, bhai jis of the Gurudwara. Great applause to the mothers, grandmothers, and fathers as well for daily bringing the kids for practicing. Kids were provided refreshments by Gurudwara every day. Even some non- Sikh kids were trained so beautifully to recite mool mantra.
All the participants and volunteers wore yellow printed stoles or dupattas and could be identified from a distance as lil devotee partakers.
A big thanks to all the volunteers- Saguna for always initiating, Pappan, Ekta, Monica, Taman, Deepika, Puja Chaudhary, Ritu kaur, Shrishti, Chinky, and many more for their usual tireless, extraordinary efforts in trying to make every event a big success. A special, kids-specific langar was organized by the Gurudwara management committee. All participants got certificates and gift hampers for their devotion to practicing and displaying religious learning. There’s only one truth that God is one, as is taught in Sikhism – Ek onkar, and God lives in the hearts of little children; this was visible in every single person’s eyes during the Gurpurab celebration.
