On 2024, Chhath Puja was observed on Thursday, November 7. This is a four days event with rituals that includes fasting, offerings to the sun God (Surya) and Chhathi Maiya (Goddess Usha), for bringing light, energy and life to Earth. A very revered festival honouring the Sun God, symbolising gratitude, purity and devotion. Each day has its significance and the rituals of this puja are known for their strict adherence and reflect deep spirituality, discipline and purity. Day one named as Nahai Khai, day 2. Kharna, day 3. Sandhya Arghya and day 4. Usha Arghya.
At AGV1, there was a great celebration of Chhath puja in the Central Park area inside the children’s swimming pool. On that occasion entire premise was decorated very beautifully with adequate arrangements.
On the third day celebration, for ‘Sandhya Arghya ‘large numbers of devotees gathered at the pool premises. They offered fruits vegetables and sweets, which represents the gift of nature with great devotion and reverence , for the well-being of their families, prosperity and happiness of their lives. On the concluding day at ‘Usha Arghya ‘devotees with their families gathered to honour the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya, praying for peace unity and renewed spiritual strength. Afterwards fruits and sweets were distributed among all the residents.
It is believed that worshipping Sun God during Chhath Puja can eliminate negativity from one’s life and bestow positivity and prosperity. Entire residents assembled at the event for experiencing such opportunity with great honour.
