Chef of the Month: Shreya Gupta

Occasionally, a longing for something sweet tugs at everyone’s senses. A  Dessert Studio, founded by Shreya Gupta (B136A/SF), a proud resident of Suncity, emerges as the ultimate destination for indulging in both savoury and sugary delights within the Suncity community.

Shreya Gupta, our very own pastry chef of Suncity is also a skilled writer, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. Since childhood, she always harboured a fascination with the culinary field, although it remained only a hobby.

It wasn’t until she found herself at home after a tiring workday and drowned away all her worries by cooking, that she realised her try calling. “ Baking provides me with a deep sense of satisfaction. It simply makes me happy” Shreya remarked.

In the year 2021, Shreya decided to quit her job and pursue her passion. Enrolling into Lavonne Academy of Baking Science and Pastry Arts located in Bangalore, she graduated with a Diploma after a 6 month rigorous course.

Eventually, she got into some internships and on receiving positive responses, she decided to start her own venture, Euphoria Dessert Studio in December of 2022. The journey began when Central Park, a society located on Golf Course Road in Gurgaon approached her to set up a stall for their Christmas Carnival. From that point onwards she was unstoppable. 

Shreya’s mother emerged as a key source of her inspiration. Her mother owned a small business in Model Town which focused on crafting savoury delicacies that were sold in their locality. “ The love and the appreciation she received from her customers, inspired me to start a business of my own.”

She runs the outlet all by herself, from marketing to baking all the delicious goods offered to her. Her homemade Korean Cream Cheese Garlic buns have taken centre stage and have earned her raving reviews. These buns have been a humongous success and are resulting in repeat orders from the residents of Suncity. The menu ranges from homemade breads such as Focaccia, Whole Wheat bread, Sandwich Loaf, Pav Buns, Burger Buns, and Fruit Bread, to an array of desserts such as cakes, cheesecakes, brownies, cookies cupcakes and Jars. She also specialises in making hand-crafted centre-filled chocolates that speak taste and luxury.

Shreya strongly focuses on maintaining the quality of all her products and thus all the ingredients are handpicked and of the best quality.

Looking ahead Shreya envisions expanding her Studio and establishing a quiet and cozy cafe. Her advice to aspiring chefs is to Just Do It. She believes one should follow their heart and not be deterred by naysayers, trusting that with time everything would fall into place. “At the end of the day, good feedback from a customer will make everything worth it.”

Shreya Gupta’s story reminds us of the beauty, and in this case, the mouth-watering desserts, that unfold when passion meets purpose. Her studio is a perfect place to indulge and give into your sweet cravings. In every bite of her products, one can taste not just the exquisite desserts but also the remarkable journey of a person who turned her passion into a confectionery haven.
