Chaos around Pet Dog Keeping Rules
A Good Dog Parent Should Not Come in the Way of People Who Are Not Pet Friendly
by Lata Kumar
The world consists of two kinds of people, one who love dogs two who don’t. As good citizens, we must respect each faction and they should respect each other, period.
Recently there was an article in a prominent Hindi daily regarding a few dog keeping notifications in Haryana, which would be applicable in the near future, and laws may be made.
Article mainly highlighted three regulations:
- A license requirement for keeping a dog.
- Not more than 1 dog per home allowed.
- Dogs require wearing a mouth cover once in public Domain (Muzzled).
Soon after this article a clarification video recorded by Maneka Gandhi herself started circulating nullifying all the so called notifications claimed by the Hindi daily.
According to her no laws have been made (anyways no body claimed that the laws have been made, just notifications as of now) licensing of dogs is definitely in the pipeline and may happen soon.
These two contrary news circulating on whatapp attracted attention and reaction both ways.
There was a lot “for” and “against” conversations on the groups.
A recent incident in a Noida condominium where a pet dog killed a neighbor’s child seemed to spark the controversy.
This dog love and hate war is never ending in the neighborhood.
A good dog parent should understand the importance of being sensitive to people who are not pet friendly and not to come in their way as much as possible and maintain harmony.
