Reading is a hobby that unfurls myriad via lactea in the reader’s mind. The house of reading brings a ray of hope and joy for the learned society and one such attempt had been made by Chandrika Sahay from C block. She is an architect by profession and found the need for the open library when her children started reading voraciously and the neighbours encouraged her for the need of the same too.
They also supported the cause to enlighten the literate and exchange the books at a common place to keep up the influx and keep the learning flowing. What a great effort by the residents and kudos to the original idea of an open library. While talking with Chandrika, she also intimated that she is planning to open many more such libraries in different lanes of the C block at popular locations for public demand.
The open library works on the concept of, ‘take a book and leave a book. ‘ The readers are encouraged to share their read book with another to spread brotherhood in the neighbourhood! Those residents, interested in joining in may leave their books at Meraki Dezine, #10, The Peach Tree
Block C, Sushant Lok, Ph 1, Gurgaon
The concept is novel and encouraging for the readers’ community of Sushant Lok to enhance and cultivate their reading ability into a productive generation of thoughts that are grounded in society and its welfare. I hope its seedlings will find their niche and spread their wings to the skies. Long live reading.
