December/January are magical months of joy and giving; there may be only a few who are untouched by the charm. The months prompt to plan spending time with family and friends, be benevolent and caring, to do what one has missed out throughout the year… with hope of joy for new beginnings, while moving on to the next year. And new year begins with sharing of joy and bonding.
Celebrations of Christmas and ushering in of 2025 in the sector were done with cheers and merriment, each their own way — within homes or as community celebrations. We received the following reports of celebrations to share with Samvada readers.
Christmas Cheer: A Magical Secret Santa Celebration at Mahagun Maestro
This Christmas, Mahagun Maestro transformed into a sparkling haven of joy and togetherness as residents gathered for a heartwarming Secret Santa celebration. The event was a perfect blend of festive cheer, community bonding, and creative fun, leaving everyone with memories to cherish.
The beautifully lit Maestro lawns provided the perfect backdrop for the celebration. A stunning Christmas tree, adorned with twinkling lights and festive decorations, stood at the center, drawing everyone into the magical ambiance. Residents wholeheartedly embraced the Secret Santa tradition by submitting their names, apartment numbers, and thoughtfully chosen gifts. Wrapped simply in newspaper to emphasize creativity and thoughtfulness, the gifts were divided into three categories: Tigers (men), Tigresses (women), and Cubs (children), ensuring inclusivity and excitement for all participants.
The evening came alive with engaging activities led by a resident, the vibrant Simi, whose energy and creativity brought smiles to faces of the young and the old. Her delightful storytelling and inclusive games fostered a sense of camaraderie among the attendees, making the event a true community affair. One of the most enchanting moments was the gift hunt, where children excitedly searched for their presents under the glittering tree. Their laughter and joy resonated across the lawns, amplifying the festive spirit.
Adding to the magic was the presence of an in-house Santa Claus, who wandered through the crowd, spreading cheer, distributing sweets, and posing for pictures in a specially crafted Christmas photo frame. Families and friends took turns capturing these precious moments.
The celebration concluded on a sweet note as everyone enjoyed the traditional Christmas cake, savoring the taste of togetherness. The evening was not just about exchanging gifts but also about sharing laughter, building connections, and celebrating the spirit of Christmas as one big family.
Mahagun Maestro’s Secret Santa celebration was a resounding success, showcasing the warmth, enthusiasm, and unity that define its community. It was a beautiful reminder of the joy that comes from shared moments and the importance of spreading happiness.
