Alok Vihar 1 is known to celebrate all festivals with zeal and fervour. Ever since the society got inhabited, in 2005, the families bond over such occasions of celebra-tion and joy Navratri Days
This year too Alok Vihar 1 once again got lit by the lights and sounds of the festivities of Navratri. The whole society and its residents actively participated in the celebration and worship of the nine forms of Maa Durga during the course of 9 nights and 10 days. The festival commenced on the first day of the Navratri with puja and aarti of the idol of Durga Ji. Throughout the 9 days, there were several cultural activities that took place ranging from drawing competition and fancy dress competition to dance performances of the ladies and kids of Alok Vihar 1. The whole society was lit up by the gala of the festival which went on till late at night every day.
After being hit severely by the Covid pandemic and going through rough couple of years, celebrating this festival with such high spirits was a relief and a joyous occasion for everyone.
Ganpati Visarjan
This year around, Ganpati Visarjan in Alok Vihar-1 was one of a kind. For the first time ever, the society saw three Ganpati Visarjans happening together in the same place at the same time. Three residents of the society had pre-planned this event and brought together the whole of society in the process to celebrate this auspicious event. The participation from other residents was extremely enthusiastic. We hope to see many more festivals and events being celebrated like this in the future.
