The reverberations of Jai Shree Ram could be heard more than a month in advance in various lanes in Malibu Towne during conversations and as greetings among residents. Most of the lanes in the township were decorated with Jai Shri Ram flags on most of the poles by the Ram Bhakts. The beginning of January saw Akshat Kalash Yatra with the convoy of many cars along with the beating of the drums coming into our township after passing through various parts of Gurugram. With saffron flags fluttering in their hands and “Shri Ram” patkas adorning their necks, the devotees swayed to the beat of drums and the devotional strains of Jai Shriram. Many of the residents of our township joined the Kalash Yatra convoy which visited our Kenwood temple and Hanuman temple as well before exiting out of the township.
Many devotees took the responsibility of distributing pouches of Pujit Akshat, or turmeric-hued ceremonial rice to other residents which continued until the final day of 22nd January.
Whatsapp groups of the township were abuzz with festive planning. “Let’s all join hands and participate in a collective celebration of Pran Pratishtha of Shri Ram Ji at Ayodhya,” urged a message, posted in some groups. It also appealed for the lighting of the Shri Ram Jyoti in every house.
Shri Sanatan Dharm Sabha Trust based at Kenwood organised a Kalash yatra on the 20th January afternoon which was attended by many residents followed by Kirtan and Bhandara on the 22nd January afternoon. OSD of Chief Minister Mr Jawahar Yadav graced the occasion.
On the 22nd of January morning, residents participated in the Prabhat Pheri/ Shobha Yatra which went around the entire Malibu Towne singing bhajans. Subsequently, a Deepotsav function was organised on the 22nd of January at Central Park too in the evening.
A picture of the Ram Lalla was installed with bhajans kirtans and diya lighting at the spot from evening onwards. Our senior citizen Mr. Pradeep Kumar Vaid was excited in initiating the discussions with Ms. Alka Dalal, Mrs. Madhu Rohtagi, Mrs. Poonam Soni and Mr. Amit Katyal for putting up this event together with the residents here. Noted singer Biren Dang graced the occasion and enthralled the audience with his beautiful rendition of bhajans. Many of the residents could be seen swaying to the melodious bhajans. The closing of the event was followed by the distribution of prasad, lighting the firecrackers followed by snacks organised by the organisers.
