This was 5251st birth anniversary of Lord Krishna, the avatar of Lord Vishnu, celebrated by all devout bhaktas. Krishna Janmash-tami celebrations is one important occasion when we can connect with the divine by offering appropriate puja, prasad, bhajan and kirtan but the nurturing spirit of Krishna can also be celebrated by witnessing the divinity in the trees around us in DLF 1.
Tulsi plant adorning many court yards in DLF 1 is one of the plants embodying Krishna. Tulsi plant is known to have prominent spiritual value besides being a medicinal plant with numerous therapeutic effects.
Kadam Ka Ped is another beloved tree of Krishna that graces our parks in DLF 1. This botanical wonder, a symbol of love and devotion was situated on the banks of Yamuna and was blessed by the divine presence of Krishna. It bears globular fruit that glows in light during the night. A beautiful divine tree has numerous environmental and medicinal values.
Another plant that embodies Lord Krishna is Parijat or Harsingar that is considered to be brought by Lord Krishna from heaven. Parijat flowers around the shardiya Navratri. The fragrant , white flowers bloom and fall before the sunrise. Parijat has immense therapeutic value and finds mention in ancient texts pertaining to its medicinal value.
The Peepal tree is truly the embodiment of the divine as it enriches our environment with oxygen in such great abundance. The tree is a habitat providing shelter to numerous species of birds and insects, thus has a prominent role in conserving the environment and also is well known for its therapeutic value.
