On 15 August, Mahagun Mor-pheus celebrated the 78th Independence Day with grandeur and unity. The event was a beautiful reflection of our comm-unity’s spirit, blending patriotism with culture, sports, and academics. The tricolor fluttered proudly as residents of all ages gathered in the morning for the flag hoisting ceremony. The national anthem resonated through the air, filling everyone with pride and joy.
The program was hosted by Sonu Rathore and Ruchika Jain with the weather fluctuating between sunshine and sprinkles of rain. The event began with a cultural program featuring lively song and dance performances by children. Ved Agarwal captivated hearts by his rendition of ‘Nanha Munha Rahi Hoon’. Dressed in white kurtas Ved, Aaryan, Garvik, Shanaya, Prakrit danced to a medley of patriotic songs, while twin sisters Aarna and Anshika had everyone at their feet with their colorful dance performance. Deepa Kandpal sang a beautiful patriotic song in sanskrit. Aaryan Vashishth, Pragun Agarwal and Ved Maheshwari played patriotic songs on keyboard and guitar reminding us of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
Peppered with the cultural extravaganza, was the sports awards ceremony wherein winners proudly received medals and awards from the EC for their achievements in the annual MM sports festival. EC also honored outstanding academic achievers from Classes Xth and XIIth, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of our young scholars. The book club volunteers Anuja, Amber, Kavya, Lavanya were also recognized for their efforts in promoting reading culture among small children. Their contributions in organizing reading sessions and discussions have made a significant impact on our community’s intellectual growth.
The celebration concluded with a sumptuous brunch that featured a variety of dishes. Neighbors bonded over food, laughter, and shared stories, making it a day of togetherness and joy. As we dispersed, the message of unity, patriotism, and community spirit lingered, reminding us that our strength lies in our shared values and collective efforts.
