The place where the people celebrate together… live together… we proudly call it Purvanchal Silver City!! Be it any occasion, whether it’s Eid! Gurupurab! Christmas!
Divali! Here they are all celebrated with full glory. One of the live examples which we recently witnessed was Dussehra. It was a pompous event which was celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm.
It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I may be allowed to say that the kind of celebrations and efforts which were initiated by the respected AOA especially AOA President, Umashankar Sharma, and the volunteers – K.P. Singh, Dipali, Smritee, Nidhi, Aarti, Shilpi, Deepak and Vivek – need a huge round of applause. It’s my challenge that there would be not a single person in Silver City who did not witness the exceptional and exciting activities that took place during the Dussehra celebrations.
There was a captivating Ramleela performance, where the talented little budding actors re-enacted the scenes from the Ramayana. The cherry on the cake was the ever shining “Jhankis” which were presented with all the famous characters of Ramayana.
The “Jhankis” were carried on with great pomp and glory that added a new colour to the celebrations. There was also a lively dandiya and garba dance event, where everyone danced to the beats of traditional music. The whole society was beautifully decorated with colourful lights and festive decorations. It was a joyous celebration that brought smiles to everyone’s faces!
