This December, the SCF Defence Colony celebrated the birthdays of our cherished seniors and super seniors with warmth, gratitude, and enthusiasm. As the proverb says, “A cheerful heart is a good medicine,” and the vibrant gathering of 95 esteemed members proved this true. The SCF lawn came alive with energy, smiles, and a whole lot of love!
Rani Gadhoke opened the event with her heartfelt words, setting the tone for a joyous day. Special honors were bestowed upon three super seniors—H.P. Khanna, S.M. Arora, and Om Parkash Anand—who received thoughtful birthday cards and souvenirs. SCF Co-Chairperson Amarjeet Batra extended warm wishes with beautifully crafted cards to Geeta Bhargava and Baljinder Kaur, while General Secretary K.S. Rekhi presented birthday greetings to Harish Kumar. Generous contributions from members like Veerendarpal Singh, S.M. Arora, and Rani Gadhoke demonstrated the truth of the saying, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
The celebration continued with sweet gestures: Reena Kumar and Harish Kumar delighted everyone with a delicious birthday cake, while Geeta Bhargava added a traditional touch with her homemade laddoos. A hearty thanks to the Bhasin Parivar and the birthday celebrants for organizing a delightful luncheon.
The event brimmed with music, poetry, and nostalgia. Melodious performances by H.P. Khanna, Om Parkash Anand, Charu Agarwal, Chanda Arora, and Ajay Kumar brought joy, while Pawan Talwar’s soulful kavita on friendship reminded us that “Good friends are like stars—you don’t always see them, but you know they’re always there.” Versha Singh shared an inspiring recount of SCF’s founding, highlighting the dedication of pioneers like G.P.S. Bawa.
We were privileged to have Abhishek Dutt and Ayesha Dutt grace the event. Dutt’s impactful community initiatives, especially “The Dignity Initiative,” earned him the heartfelt title “Son of the Colony.” Our day was further brightened by the presence of Vijay Kumar, President of R.W.A. A-Block, and a beloved SCF member.
The festivities concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony and a sumptuous lunch featuring Bedmi Puri, Aloo Sabzi, and Moong Dal Halwa—reminding us of the saying, “Good food is the foundation of genuine happiness.”
With this memorable celebration, we step into the New Year, eagerly anticipating more moments of laughter, camaraderie, and love.
