The spirited and tightly-knit community of Hauz Khas E&D Block (East) RWA came together to mark a memorable Independence Day celebration at Central Park, rekindling the festive spirit after the lockdown restrictions.
With an eagerness to reconnect, approximately 43 like-minded members congregated at 9 am for a joyous gathering that fostered camaraderie and patriotism.
The heart of the event was at the iconic Flag post at Central Park, Hauz Khas Main Market. The proud unfurling of the National Flag was gracefully carried out by the esteemed Pramod Mehra, a senior member, while the youngest member present, little Advika Virmani Mahajan, aged just 3 months, stood as a symbol of the future, united in support of this significant occasion. Together, we resonated with the National Anthem, our voices harmonizing with the spirit of our nation. Adding an extra layer of charm, Janak Raj Gupta thoughtfully provided National Flags to each attendee, symbolizing the collective pride we hold for our country.
Following the flag unfurling, the attendees engaged in a heart-warming photo session, capturing the essence of the day. As the morning unfolded, a delightful self-introduction session ensued, highlighting the presence of numerous new faces within the RWA. This session not only welcomed newcomers but also allowed existing members to delve deeper into each other’s stories, fostering a stronger sense of community.
What truly made this celebration unique was the diverse array of professions and backgrounds represented. Distinguished figures from the Aviation, Lufthansa Cargo, and Indian Oil Corporation sectors, as well as esteemed top brass from renowned Hotel Chains, Jeweller from Chandni Chowk, leading Garment Exporters, a prominent Pan India Saree Retail Chain owner, Restaurant Proprietors, Supreme Court Advocate, a respected School Principal….etc, coupled with an unexpected surprise performance from the talented couple, Dr. Sajal Haldar, a leading Dermatologist from AIIMS and Dr. (Prof) Nabonita Haldar, a faculty member at AIIMS. The melodious rendition of Mukesh’s “Kahin Duur Jab Din Dhal Jaye” from the film “Anand,” added a touch of elegance to the proceedings.
To satiate our appetites, snacks, refreshing soft drinks, and chilled water was generously provided by a neighbourhood restaurant enhancing the atmosphere of festivity.
The undeniable success of this event paved the way for unanimous agreement on hosting more such fellowships in the upcoming months. In summation, the 76th Independence Day was commemorated by the tightly-knit Hauz Khas ED East Block RWA with unparalleled enthusiasm and an unyielding spirit of unity.
