As the Vasant Vihar Ladies club marks its 49th Founder’s day, It was a momentous occasion to reflect on nearly half a century of sisterhood, friendship and belongingness. It provides a platform for women to connect, learn and grow together. Every year founder’s day is celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal. This year the celebrations began with Ganesh Vandana presented by Manjula Dewan, Chitra Shakdher, Kamla Chaudhary and Sujata Kapoor.
It was followed by solo dance performances by Alka Sheel and Meena Mathur. Mrs Vipula Bagai set the perfect Baisakhi mood with a Punjabi folk song. Mrs Gayatri Vaish recited a self composed poem on Maa ka aanchal.
There were group dance performances by Ruchira Chandra, Nidhi Agarwal, Ekta Jain, Garima Chopra, Neha Kansal, Priya Gupta, Minu Anand, Devyani Bhatnagar, Shuchi Goel and Prachi Goel. Adding to the celebratory mood was a power packed gidda performance by Anita Varma, Karishma Jhulka, Sangeeta Arora, Inderjeet, Charanpreet and Usha Gupta..
Regina Mathur sang a parody composed by herself keeping the essence of ladies club in mind. Along with her were Sonia Sabharwal ,Rupali Nayar, Anu Nayar, Deepika Khandelwal, Neeraja Ahuja and Mini Singhal dancing to her tune.President Anukampa Sayal also mesmerized the members with a melodious song. Program convenor Pooja Dewan and Anukampa Sayal together to compèred the entire program.
The audience was thoroughly entertained by the exceptional talent of the participating members. It reminded us of the importance of coming together and supporting one another.
