Carlton played host for the second time to the Farmers Market on 20 March. On a fine sunny morning, the Carlton Lawns were decked in stalls covered with fresh produce straight from the farm. Things like ghee, vegetables, grains and even beauty products took the residents by a surprise. The residents got to feast on Sarson Ka saag, Makki ki rotis, Bajra rotis with curd all made fresh in front of them.
The afternoon did not just end there, adults were taught how to make pickles and were given tips on how to plant various seeds of herbs, fruits and vegetables in their balconies. Truly a well-planned event where everyone got to take home something with them, in my case a bag full of fresh salad leaves.
