Trespassing
Residents of Maharani Bagh have time and again raised concern about gangs and vagabonds entering the colony without any purpose. Recently this issue was again discussed and one resident said, “Can the trespassing point be raised where the guards have the right to stop people who just come to chill in the colony, to walk in gangs, bikes that come in at high speed and don’t stop at gates. I think there were discussions in the group earlier that it’s not legal to stop anyone who wants to come in.”
Another resident added, “Is it legal for two wheelers speeding and honking through the Colony. Riders without helmets balancing with phone stuck between ear and shoulder, even three on the bike. We should request Traffic police to position a constable inside. Gate 1 must control ingress of two wheelers.”
This should be taken up with the security team. They need to instruct their guards to control rowdy two-wheeler traffic into the colony for security reasons.
But mostly it’s understood that you can’t stop anyone from entering as it’s a freeway. People have entered drunk and rammed into houses / cars / pots. If that’s true, can it be discussed with the MLA and have a solution for it. If it’s a private gated colony where we are in complete control of the rules then I think we have to sort it internally.
The fact is that Maharani Bagh is designed as a non-gated society. Everybody has the right to move around in the common areas without being stopped. Our bad luck is that vote bank strong under privileged communities have come up that surround our colony and they are growing in number. Most of the young inhabitants of these communities have not much to do and they are looking for parks and spots where they are able to spend their time loitering. They find our parks ideal to do that. We the residents are in tune with their uncultured behaviour and we don’t wish to be associated with them in any way and detest seeing them around in our vicinity.
Legally we can’t stop their entry but we have the right to ensure that they don’t indulge in any kind to rowdy behaviour. To control this the best would be to employ private guards (like the G4 security agency) on motorbikes continuously taking rounds of the colony 24X7. These guards should pull up youngsters that indulge in unruly or unacceptable behaviour. In some case these guards report to the cops and take their help in emergencies.
This kind of security agency is a bit expensive but our rich society can very easily contribute and employ it to stop these vagabonds and the residents would feel much safer moving around in the colony.
