As explained by the team who held the camp in association with NFC RWA (Ashoka Park) on 27th August 2023, “…the importance of eating a healthy diet cannot be over exaggerated because it’s not just your physical health that’s reliant on what you eat but your mental health, too…..”. All of us are aware that a healthy balanced diet has so many benefits including reducing the risk of developing chronic diseases, helping to recover faster from illness, and and, above all maintain a healthy weight and remain as slim as possible !!! isn’t it ?
In fact, all our readers here at ‘Samvada’ will agree that ‘healthy’ for all means ‘fit and slim’ !! The dietitians at the Camp explained that a healthy diet is essential, not only for good health and nutrition, but that both food and gastrointestinal tract play an important role in our state of mind also. But, this does not mean that we give up a particular/specific food completely, or shift to a certain meal plan everyday.
What is important is a ‘balanced diet’ to meet the nutritional demands of the body and prevent malnutrition, keep up energy levels and maintain normal body functions, boost the immune system and optimize cell repair, prevent lifestyle diseases, etc.
Several residents participated and had their questions answered. NFC RWA (Ashoka Park) was happy to note that the Camp benefited its residents.
