RWA’s Weak Security Punctured Again
Samvada News Bureau
On 29th Oct, burglars entered from SDF 1A end by cutting the barbed wires of the outer boundary wall. They stole the bicycle of Gangaram presswala and locked him in his room from outside.
They went to SDF flat no 10-B, by breaking open the window grill. The residents, Kaushiks, were out of station for a few days. Unfortunately, even the residents of Flat no 10-A were out of station. The burglars climbed the boundary wall near the Drain/green belt adjoining Flat no -1A, cut the concertina wires, broke open the lock of the garden gate of Flat no 10-A and then cut open the concertina wires on the boundary wall behind the flat, and, climbing on it, entered the bedroom by removing the grill of the window.
Kaushik (10-B) later averred: the state of security in the Sector was definitely well below par and the guards totally lazy – this seriously needs to be looked into and a revamp is a must. Last night, when I was returning to the Sector I accidentally left a bag behind in the cab I had taken from the railway station. I informed the main Gate around 10:30 pm and told them the time of entry (9:05 to 9:15 pm) and that the car was a cab with an HR 38 number plate and they should look into the CCTV footage and help me with the number so that I could connect and figure out, and request the driver to return the bag. However, the gate no. 1 security (Ranjit Bisht and company) have still not given me the car number, saying that RWA President Inderjit Sial had called senior police officers to do the necessary investigations.
On 29th Oct, resident Ashok Kumar posted: We should have a meeting to discuss the security in the Sector. It’s becoming serious.
Finally, RWA Security Team organized a meeting with residents in the evening of 1st Oct at Club 15A. This was attended by Vireshpal Gir (SHO) and Deena Nath Yadav (Station In-charge).
President Inderjit Sial gave a presentation about the key security challenges faced by the Sector as well as details of the current security setup. Then SDF Samiti President Deepak Malik spoke to the residents and gave his thoughts on the issue.
Many residents came forward with their questions as well as suggestions on how the current setup could be improved.
The meeting concluded with a brief talk by Noida Police SHO Vireshpal Giri.
