The festival of colors kicked off in style with a ‘phoolon ki holi’ at Gauri Shanker Mandir on Friday, 7th March. For two glorious hours (4-6 pm), devotees got their groove on, singing praises of Radha-Krishn, dancing like no one was watching, and showering each other with colorful flower petals.
On Holika Dahan, the residents of Q block went all out with a traditional puja in the morning, followed by a delightful meet and greet over Gujiya and tea in the evening. The pyre was lit around 9 pm, marking the perfect end to the evening.
And then came the—New Punjabi Mahasabha! They threw a Holi bash at Plot number 60, Akashneem Marg. Over 350 merrymakers grabbed their passes and dove into the celebrations. There was no shortage of fun: chaat from Old Delhi, a feast of lunch and desserts, dhol beats that made it impossible to stay still, and a DJ to keep the energy high. Ladies had a blast with fun games, and there were 10 lucky winners for exciting prizes!
But wait, there’s more! Jyotsana Vipin Yadav was on cloud nine. Just two days before Holi, she won the MCG elections; so naturally, her victory was part of the celebration. She hosted an epic Holi bash with her team—complete with dhol, music, thandai, mithai, and lunch. Everyone was welcomed with a garland, and it was a celebration of victory, colors, and community spirit!
Last but definitely not least was the P Block’s HAPPY GROUP—the seniors and their families got together in the P Block Park for a water-free Holi with dry colors. Everyone brought snacks to share, proving once again that food and fun go hand in hand!
And let’s not forget all the smaller groups who added their own touch of joy to the festival, dancing, eating, and making memories. All these celebrations different yet the same are the true meaning of Holi, unity in diversity!!
