A shared love for stories has brought a few of us together in a beautiful way through our very own book club! What began as a casual conversation about what we were reading in a WhatsApp group has grown into a small circle of passionate readers eager to share their love for books and writing? While we’ve only had a handful of in-person meetups so far, the enriching discussions on WhatsApp have been a real boon.
Among us, we’re privileged to have Dr. Amrinder Bajaj, a renowned gynecologist and accomplished author. She has published several books, both fictional and health-focused, and even co-authored works with the legendary Dr. Khushwant Singh.
This month, her latest book, Letting Go, was published by Bloomsbury and is now available in bookstores. A few of us were fortunate to attend the book launch, hosted by the publishers at Medicity Research Institute DLF Phase 3, where we witnessed an inspiring celebration of her talent and dedication.
This deeply personal book is drawn from her heartfelt diary notes, written during her husband’s final days battling cancer. In it, she shares an honest and emotional account of revisiting their relationship while juggling the demands of caregiving and her career as a doctor. It’s a moment of immense pride to have such a seasoned author among us in the book club. Dr. Bajaj has also recently written another insightful book on menopause, Live Your Best Life, published by Penguin.
If you’re passionate about reading or simply want to connect with like-minded neighbours, join us for our next meet. Bring your ideas, curiosity, and, of course, a love for books!
