All residents living across DLF2 are facing a unique dilemma in the last few years – The building work going on all around us. Either old constructions are being brought down and re-constructed or the empty plots are being built up.
All this puts us all at the mercy of the builders managing their projects and their work styles.
Many have faced the builders’ woes and had problems in their daily lives or damage to their own homes.
A recent case that came to light recently in P block had the resident’s house just escaping a fire incident due to the worker’s negligence.
The house under construction has its back boundary wall adjoining the said resident’s house. The builder had put up some grills at the boundary. They had put plastic on the floors to avoid getting spoiled due to painting. While welding a broken grill link, the plastic caught fire. The fire was immediately doused and work was stilled with no one getting hurt. But the fire and smoke caused concern for the residents as they got flames towards their house and they had their gas cylinders in their backyard, very close to the wall.
A video of the situation was shared by the resident on the RWA group to highlight the concern on the Builders groups where RWA GC team connects with all builders’ community in the colony for regular updates and information.

Builders causing damages and working without fear of being penalised is on the rise. We ourselves faced multiple damages due to builder floor on both sides of our house and three years down are still getting the damages repaired. High time the authorities think about the safety of general public than granting extra permissions and leavage to the builders who are ruthless in their work and behaviour.
