The Posh colony Image of Def col is getting tarnished with the blocking of sewers lines all over the colony especially in the back lanes which is the shabbiest sight for outsiders.
The Last few pre-monsoon showers created the same old pathetic look of the colony when water was clogged at most of the places. Residents were unable to even move out of their houses or take out their vehicles. The filth, garbage was seen floating all over the colony due to stagnant water in the rain water naalis, sewers.
Malaria is already spreading in Delhi and due to this problem, our residents will be more vulnerable to Malaria, Dengue or Chikungunya cases in the coming days. It seems that the Desilting of Rain water drains was not done properly and the Gross Negligence of the builders of covering the sewers with raw material for months is also the main reason of blocked sewers. MCD is trying its best to clean the sewers, but more than 200 under-construction buildings at any given time, there is no solution in sight for the residents. We can only recommend heavy challans as and when a sewer is blocked by the builders.
Residents are facing back flow of sewer in their homes specially in the basements. Thanks to the efficient work of DJB sewer dept. This is being taken care of by Mr Siddarth complaint redressal is done on priority.
The main question arises why is this issue coming up? One reason is the load on the sewer has increased with most properties being redeveloped, where there were two floors now there are five floors in a single house. These the old sewer lines are not equipped to handle and need to be changed.
The other reason on commercial street like D block is that the pubs and restaurants are dumping their untreated waste inside the sewer and causing sludge. These places need to have a STP plant to treat their garbage which very few have got installed.
Our MLA Madan Lal has promised to look into this issue and wherever required change of sewer lines will be done.
