While we all celebrate festivals with great enthusiasm, the elderly in old age homes often feel isolated and forgotten. During Durga Puja, as we spend lakhs on grand Pandals and decorations, we should also take a moment to remember those living alone in these homes.
True devotion is not just about rituals—it’s about spreading joy and kindness to those who need it the most.
Last year, we invited residents from local old age homes to our Durga Puja Pandals, and the smiles on their faces were priceless. Many of them, who once lived happy lives surrounded by family, are now helpless due to abandonment or other circumstances.
It is our duty to make them feel loved and cared for, especially during festive seasons.
We encourage young couples to visit these homes on special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays, or festivals. Even small gestures like spending time, donating food supplies, or providing medicines can make a huge difference.
Two local old age homes—Jan Kalyan Trust in Sector-55 and Varadhaashram in Dankaur, Greater Noida—are open for visits. For more details, please contact me at 9810756661.
