Book Discussion On ‘A Pitara Of Love’

Celebrating the unconditional love and special bond between grandparents and grandchildren, the DCWA Club’s Library and Book Club organised an evocative and entertaining ‘Book Discussion session on the 6th of October of the book “A Pitara of Love”: Amazon’s number 3 bestseller in ‘Food, Drinks, and Entertainment’ by Ameya Aneja, a young 16-year-old author. The book discussion opened to a packed hall, seating young and old alike. The session began with a welcome address by the extremely enterprising Chairperson of the Library Committee, Vijayalaxmi Vasudevan, who was the inspiration and driving force behind the event. She welcomed the panelists for the book discussion, Naamya Singh, Aditi Aggarwal, the author, Ameya Aneja- all confident, young teenagers with a passion for reading and community service and the charismatic coordinator for the session, Shefali Khanna, an entrepreneur, and philanthropist. Saguna Puri Singh, the dynamic and energetic Vice President of the club, then presented tokens of appreciation to the panelists and congratulated Ameya for her brilliant book.

Ameya had her first book published at 11, titled “Twice the Twist.” Her second book, “A Pitara of Love,” is a non-fiction book that is a heartfelt tribute to her grandmother, celebrating her legacy and the timeless bond they share while exploring the diverse landscape of Indian cuisine and traditions.

The discussion began with the reading of some excerpts from the book highlighting its theme. On a more serious note, being a teenager in high school, Ameya spoke of some of the challenges she faced writing the book, particularly time management, and how she overcame them through discipline and dedication.

Such initiatives by the DCWA Library and Book Club provide a platform not only for creative expression but also for fostering a sense of community and belonging.
