Complaints regarding blocked sewers in the colony are increasing day by day. Not only in a block but all over the colony. Dirty silt is coming inside residents’ houses especially old houses which are lower in ground level. Though jetting machine and complaint redressal by DJB is quite efficient but still the complaints addressed keep on reoccurring. If one may analyse the reason behind this concern, many issues crop up. The sewer system of the colony was built in the 60s and was to cater to a given number of plots which has tripled in recent years putting a load on the system and gradually leading to a state of collapse, Though some lines have been changed thanks to the effort of our MLA Madan Lal but that is not enough. Desilting of the sewer drains has not been done which causes regular blockages. The contract for specialised machine like recyclers and super suckers have not been renewed thus drains have not been desilted. Over and above, the construction material is being dumped at construction sites further choking it. We request RWA to take up this matter with the Jal Board and MLA office to take corrective action otherwise it we will not be able to deal with this issue.
