This November, the Senior Citizen Forum (SCF) of Defence Colony hosted two grand events that filled the air with joy, warmth, and empowerment.
November Stars Birthday Celebration: On November 25th, the SCF celebrated its ceremonial birthday event, bringing together 90 members for a heartwarming gathering.
A special thanks goes out to Kanchan Anand for her gracious welcome and heartfelt wishes to the birthday seniors and super seniors. We also express our gratitude to the 20 SCF members whose contributions made a lasting impact on the community.
We would like to offer a special mention to Veena Khanna, ex-president of the DCWA, who treated everyone to delicious patties, and Rashmi Verma, who sweetened the occasion with her delectable pedas.
We are truly grateful to Abhishek Dutt for his unwavering support of the SCF forum. His dedication, helpful spirit, and immense contribution truly make him a valuable member of our family. Known affectionately as “Our Munda Abhishek,” he is a cherished part of the SCF community.
The celebration reached its peak as Ajay Gupta serenaded the birthday boys and girls with a beautiful song, spreading joy and warmth. This was followed by the presentation of birthday cards and souvenirs, adding to the festive cheer. The event culminated in a lively cake-cutting ceremony and a delicious feast of North Indian favorites like chole bhature, moong dal halwa, cocktail samosas, and sandwiches.
Empowering Seniors: Infotainment Session on Cyber Crime Awareness: The second event of the month focused on empowering minds and enriching the lives of our seniors.
The day began with a refreshing yoga session, emphasizing the importance of physical health in maintaining mental well-being. This was followed by a lively song and quiz segment, which not only brought smiles but also exciting prizes, showing that “laughter truly is the best medicine.”
The highlight of the day was the Cyber Crime Awareness session, presented by HelpAge India. With detailed slides and expert explanations, the session provided invaluable tips on staying safe online. The key takeaway from this session was clear: “Think before you click!” Attendees left inspired and well-informed, with a renewed commitment to online safety.
