Bhagidari is a great concept of sharing a business platform . A group of businessmen take the initiative to do something for their business complex. The important mis-sion is to initiate an idea. Let it brew for some time and the result is amazing.
After all it is for our own good. An enhanced, beautiful exterior pleasing to the eye, for one and all.
The idea to beautify Sehgal Market 1 germinated a couple of years ago .
An RWA member spoke to each shop owner and asked for their opinion, in consultation with a mason cum painter for expenses and time required in the favourable weather to do up the exterior façade of the market complex as well as to clean up its interiors. The quantum was not much, and each owner could share in the expense easily.
After several talks and discussions held over a year with each shop owner, the initial hesitation gave way to agreement and enthusiasm. Everyone agreed it was a great idea that would work to their benefit. Mr. Bali of Ashoka Medicos took the initiative to get this activity to fruition. Money was collected from all volunteers over a period of 2 months. The new look of the market complex is sophisticated and fresh. Every resident passing by appreciates the efforts put in by all the stakeholders. Hopefully all our local markets will take cue from this great initiative and come forward to enhance the look and upkeep of their shops to attract more customers. The next step will be to clear the front passage of the market and paint it. Then, it won’t be long till we have a new Khan Market in our midst. Let us not wait for the govt, local administration or the RWA to do your job. Bhagidari hai na… Let us do it together ourselves.
