Books for All (BFA), a not-for-profit trust located in Eldeco Utopia, Sector 93A, Noida, came into being on 30 January 2010 when the first Library-cum-Creativity Centre was inaugurated in Government Primary School, Gheja village. Today, on 30 January 2023, as we celebrated our 13 years, BFA has six functional Library-cum-Creativity Centres ensuring holistic development of more than 16000 students hailing from lesser privileged backgrounds. Under the Sponsored Students Programme started in 2014, BFA has sponsored the education of 30 bright deserving students to good English- and Hindi-medium schools. Out of these 30 students, 23 are girls.
The Career Counselling & Vocational Training Programme which received the support of a major IT company has helped BFA counsel more than 4200 students of 16 Inter Colleges, Schools and NGOs; admit 230 impecunious students to Vocational Institutes, thereby ensuring a dignified life to 90 trained students through placements in reputed sectors and helped build confidence and personality of more than 2500 students through Soft Skills & Life Skill Training.
In 2021, with an aim to provide good quality books to less-privileged children Pan India, BFA started distributing Hanging Libraries to Rural Government Schools. Today, children of 88 Schools in 17 States of India have received this gift of knowledge! More than 15,000 students are benefitting from these books that are available in seven different Languages!
In the same year, BFA also made a small beginning to empower analphabetic women of Gheja village, through ‘Sankalp’ Adult Literacy Programme. So far, 10 women have learned to read Hindi and have also gained financial literacy! They are now learning to read English language.
BFA would like to thank all its supporters for being a valuable part of this journey. To be a part of our future journey connect with Deepa Sengar at +91-98186 49959.
