The senior citizens in Vasant Vihar are at risk. One such person who lived in main Vasant Vihar with his family and is a son of a respectable person, approached me. I have known him for many years. He befriended me, calling me ‘Mom’ and touching my feet every time he came to see me. Very polite and always willing to do whatever help I might need. He said he was a recovery agent and since I had some funds stuck and it was not possible for me to recover the money, I asked him to help.
He made me run around in circles for seven months. It was always ‘Its Happening Soon’ this week, this month. It went on and on and always a story behind the delay. Some amount was also stuck and he gave me a check that bounced. Its only when I went to the police with my complain and they threatened to do an FIR that he paid me my money. I believe he has cheated a lot of old ladies. I was lucky to get my money out and then get rid of him.
Beware residents of these fraudsters they are lurking around you. You won’t know when they hit you. This is their profession. Be careful and don’t let them target you.
