In broad daylight, about 20 days ago; Usha Goel of D block ‘lost’ her heavy gold chain with pendant in an e-rickshaw. Since it was a Tuesday, she decided to buy laddus & go to the temple
to offer. She took a e-rickshaw from outside Jaipuria plaza, with the condition that the e-rick will take her to Brahmaputra market, wait for her a while till she buys laddus & then bring her back to Sector 26. The e-rickshaw guy agreed, and she boarded the rickshaw. However, after the about turn, at the red light, he made three ladies sit in the rickshaw. Mrs Goel protested but to no avail.
She says that the 3 ladies sat opposite her and kept staring at her. Then one of them sat next to her as they felt cramped in one seat. One lady came next to her, and the ladies kept kicking her feet, and when she asked them not to do so, they said the e-rick was heaving and causing disbalance. The e-rick dropped her off at BP market and went off. She bought the laddus and took a cycle rickshaw to the temple. That is when she realized her chain was missing. Mrs Goel thinks the ladies & driver were part of a gang. Her family refuses to register a FIR.
