As one enters the beautiful home of Anita, Mandar, and Rishi on the 18th floor of R Tower, Windsor Court, you are immediately enveloped in a vibrant pop of color. A mélange of lively paintings by Anita adorn one side of the entry galley, the colors reflected in the beautiful circular mirror on the opposite side.
The tone of the whole house is unique, inspired by their love for Mumbai and varied life experiences. Remodeled last year, it is an amalgamation of minimalistic and modern aesthetics. Shades of white, grey, and black can be seen throughout the home, giving it a neutral hue and natural warmth.
Unhindered views of Gurgaon from three sides give the home a wonderful openness. The terrace with walled artificial plants, old palms, and a customized sun awning is the perfect place to lounge in the sunny afternoons and chill with a drink in the cozy evenings.
Five-year-old Rishi’s room is decorated with a ‘modes of transport’ theme wallpaper and shades of green on the wall and study table. Mandar’s office space is also the family TV room and the guest room. It is inspired by Scandinavian chic. The highlight is the concrete-inspired wall that continues uninterrupted into the ceiling. There is also a small drum room, which is still a work in progress and will finally be a place for some catchy music and rhythmic beats.
Anita described that the inspiration behind the design of their home was to build a space that makes the family feel happy, peaceful, and fulfilled. I think their gorgeous home reflects those feelings beautifully.
