According to the Hindu calendar the month of ’Baishah ‘ is very auspicious which falls on the mid of April month (13th to 15th). In North India , 13 of April is celebrated as ‘Baishakhi’, in Bengal -people celebrate it as ‘ Bengali New Year’ (Poila Baishakh) , which falls on 14 or 15 April, by greeting each other and celebrating in various fashion. In Assam, it is celebrated as ‘Bihu’. On 15 April, Saturday, the Bengali residents from AGV-1 and AGV-2, together, organised a cultural program and get together in the evening from 7 o’clock onwards at the club house. The event started by greeting each other and welcoming the New Year. A small cultural event was held on the occasion. Various group songs, children’s dance performances, guitar playing, reciting poems – were the part of that event which everyone enjoyed a lot. The event culminated with delicious dinner for all. It was an enjoyable programme, appreciated well by the residents.
