The Panchshila Club celebrated Baisakhi on 14th April in the lawns with full fanfare and gaiety. The members had to book tables in advance mentioning the number of members and guests if any for the Club to make arrangements. The layout was beautiful and the tables were marked with the names and number of people occupying that particular table. Extremely impressive arrangement by the Club enabling seamless co-ordination. There were two reasons to rejoice and celebrate. Baisakhi and 55th Founders day.
The President Mr.Rajesh Chopra and his team cut the cake to mark the occasion of Founders Day. Baisakhi marks the beginning of new spring year and the end of harvest of rabi crop in North India. The farmers thank god for the bountiful harvest and pray for prosperity. A live band of singers and dancers lit up the event with their lively bhangra numbers and dance performances. The members enjoyed themselves as they took to the dance floor .The guests danced along with the bhangra and gidda troupe present. The troupe was clad in traditional clothes and the band set a perfect rural ambience for the audience. The singers kept the mood upbeat and atmosphere electrifying by singing popular Hindi songs with Punjabi tadka and even some English tracks. The weather was pleasant and the members celebrated with full on gaana, bajana, bhangra and gidda. The weather gods smiled which made us smile even more. Good food, good music, good service, lovely ambience, fun filled company…an event and evening to remember for a long time. Thank you Panchshila Club and the committee for keeping up the good work.
