This is in reference to a story about the above ‘Talab’ exisiting in B-1 VK. The actual True version about the past history of the Talab is as under:
Prior to 1980 (i.e., prior to the mass urbanization and coming-up of Vasant Kunj) this area was a stony-waste, part of South Central Ridge of ‘Arravalis lying between two villages- Masoodpur and Mehrauli (Kishangarh never existed here-Reference Village Map of 1900 AD with Mehrauli Teshil).
This Talab – known then as ‘Khutawala Talab’ because a stone-cut pillar showing about 6’ above water level was embedded in the Talab, which lay on the village boundary between Masoodpur and Mehrauli. It was a perennial Talab, favourite of grazing cattle, which would wade into it at midday. There was no temple on habitation up to some distance around it. Village track from Mehrauli to Masoodpur passed near the Northern bank of the Talab.
It is amusing to read how this Talab has been given a new name and even a temple has been built there to justify the name ‘Baba Adangnath’ and the history of the Talab linked to 12th century Ruler Prithviraj Chauhan (which actually is Neela Hauz).
