Aushadhi Park- An Awareness Towards Ayurveda (Part-1)

Aushadhi Park is one of its kind in probably the whole of Gurugram. It is the brainchild of V.K. Khanna (WW 50). In discussion with him, he narrated the thought behind this endeavour.

During the Corona epidemic, Allopathy failed to provide support to the hope of millions of people. Corona was itself a trial for an allopathic approach to treatment. During these times many people experimented with Ayurvedic ways of healing and Ayurveda has saved the lives of millions. This inspired him to establish Aushadhi Park to ignite awareness towards Ayurved.

He started the Project with the help of Vijay Shiv Nath – President MTRWA, Gina Krishnan, and Varisht Nagrik Society members namely Ashok Singhal, Ashwani Tandon, Ashok Suri, BL Sani, Prof. Suresh, Prof JP Soni, Balbir Singh, Harminder Chadha and Anesh Kohli. KB Arora helped with khad/ oil cake manure.

Mr. Khanna has selected the plants by way of extensive search on Google and YouTube etc. At present, there are 56 medicinal plants which have been planted in an area near the Genset. The plants have been procured from TERI Nursery Gurugram, Baba Nursery Ambala and online from Amazon (W. Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand etc.). Plants were financed initially at Rs.6000/- by MTRWA (for procurement from TERI) Nursery, later on, all investment for upgrading and maintaining the Park is borne by V.K. Khanna. He continuously updates the plants, maintains them and replants that have died or are stolen(!!).

Aushadhi Park is open to all Residents. Since the Park is mainly for awareness, Mr. Khanna helps the residents to procure the plants they require. Ayurveda believes that food (plant) is the cause and cure of all diseases but each plant has a different function for each of its parts like root, leaves, stem etc., so a proper consultation by a qualified Ayurveda doctor is advised.

We are sharing with you all a few of the plants at our Aushadhi Park
