Thief caught by guard of H no. 38
A burglary was attempted in 9C/D, Anand Lok on the 5th of April around 10:35pm. The residents heard a loud banging in the garden on the service lane side around 10.35 pm. When they came
down and saw someone in the garden, he quickly ran away. They called Ramdev, our beat constable who arrived in a minute.
Two of their new Fenesta doors were damaged and the intruder was trying to rattle an old door with grills which made the loud noise which alerted them. They also alerted their neighbours in no 8, Anand Lok in case the burglar had jumped to their side and was hiding in their garden. These burglars then attempted burglary at 39 Anand Lok which is at the back of this house. They tried to get into their housekeeper’s quarter. When she called the owners and raised an alarm, they tried to escape by leaping over the shared wall with No. 38.
They were challenged by the guard. One of them was caught by the guard of house number 38 and handed over to the police. The other escaped by climbing over Gate number 2. The person who was caught was acting drunk or stoned. A lot of the action was caught on security cameras. The police were informed. The caught person was questioned and the police are trying to find out about his fellow thieves.
To rule out the possibility of outsiders entering from gate number 2, the tea stall outside the gate number was closed with the efforts of ARA manager, Mr. Vinod Gupta and the beat constable Ram Dev as unknown individuals would be hanging around under the pretext of having tea.
ARA is also working on improving the security measures around these entry and exit points of colony
