Arya Samaj Mandir GK-2 organized a Health Camp in GK-2 in association with a reputed hospital on 3rd September‘23, which was well attended by the area resi-dents. Various diagnostic and consultative services by the concerned Specialists were offered at the Camp. Speaking about the importance of the Camp, Dr. Neelam Nath, a senior medical volunteer at the Camp, emphasized on the need to ensure regular deworming, monitoring gut health and conducting routine blood investigations as the key to maintaining good health.
Since 10th February and 10th August are observed as the National Deworming Days, the Camp was focusing extensively on providing the deworming treatment to adults and children alike. As explained by Dr Nath, the general tendency of people running to get over the counter medicines to treat gastric and acidity related issues could prove detrimental to their health.
The natural acids produced by stomach and liver soften food thereby assisting its movement to the small intestine for digestion. Several antacids that are easily available in the market interfere with these good acids, impairing release of nutrition from the food and should be avoided. Products like saunf (aniseed)and misri naturally treat acidity. Dr Nath further laid emphasis on getting regular fasting blood examinations conducted, especially by women, to timely diagnose and treat issues pertaining to hemoglobin, diabetes and sugar levels together with microscopy of concentrated urine. As they say, prevention is better than cure. We hope people pay heed to such simple advice and make good use of such facilities in order to stay healthy.
